In September 2010, the campaign for the release of Tal Mallohi was founded in response to a pledge her mother had issued. This happened after previous attempts had done to help finding Tal Mallohi whereabouts since her disappearance in the end of December 2009.
- The campaign goals and purposes are initiated by humanly purposes and its members are a collection of individuals and are not an institutional entity.
The campaign and its member do not get involved in any polemics with entities or individuals whose intention might be geared towards distracting the advertised goals of the campaign. The campaign and its members are vowed to devoting their best efforts and time for the release of a sister and a daughter, Tal Mallohi.
The campaign doesn't have representatives and does not require funding or financial support from any group. Individuals or entities that publically claim the campaign's efforts and achievements or allege that the campaign is being funded by some party will be sued. The campaign doesn't speak nor represent any political party and is neither involved nor concerned with any disputed or differences amongst Syrian opposition groups and its existence ends with the achievement of its goals.
Since its inception, the campaign has been in constant contact with the girl's family to inform them about any news regarding their daughter. The campaign is also in contact with humanitarian organizations and the media and public figures in the region and abroad for the sole purpose of releasing Tal Mallohi. Goals proposed by some signatories on the statement of the campaign are ignored if they are not aligned with those of the campaign. Any suggestions the help in achieving the campaign's goal are appreciated. After all, we were able to bring the case of Tal Mallohi to the attention of the media, international organizations, and human rights bodies.
Information about the campaign status and updates are published on its site, http://freetalnow.blogspot.com, released and updated by the campaign's coordinator Amira Al-Tahawi, and/or distributed through the campaign's e-mail freetalnow@gmail.com
Efforts that help in the release of Tal Mallohi also assist solving cases of other detainees' arbitrary enforced disappearance and those who have been subjected to unfair trials in Syria. Citizens Abuse and oppression is not acceptable anymore.
Let us remind ourselves that Tal Mallohi's sick and has been in detention for over 270 days under cruel circumstances. What should bring us together, not divide us, is to demand her immediate release and/or be granted a fair trial.
